Despite so much development in Jammu and Kashmir and its transition from state into a UT has failed to advertise posts for dental surgeon for the past many years. This has left thousands of those with BDS degrees in lurch.

One of the dental surgeons said that governments have funds for medical, veterinary and Ayurveda but not for the posts of dental surgeons. “We even did a hunger strike but it was all in vain” said the dental surgeon.

Dental surgeons claimed that the Government has failed to advertise posts of Dental Surgeon since 2008. Dental surgeons complained saying that so much time and efforts are spent by them on studies but they don’t get any outcome and “our opportunity to serve people are also taken away. Jobs have been advertised in all sectors except our sector” they alleged.

As per reports, appeal to LG Manoj Sinha has been made by the dentists to look into  the matter and get the posts advertised for dental surgeons as well. When the dentists met LG’s advisor RR Bhatnagar last month he called the Commissioner Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo to resolve the issue.
