DG CRPF inspects Baltal base camp, reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements

With preparations gathering pace for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026, CRPF Director General G.P. Singh has carried out a high-level review of security and logistical arrangements in Kashmir. The DG inspected preparedness along the Baltal axis, examined access-control and deployment measures at the base camp, and directed all agencies involved in the yatra to maintain a robust, closely coordinated security grid for the duration of the pilgrimage.

During inspections along the yatra route up to the Baltal base camp and meetings with CRPF, civil administration, J&K Police and other security agencies, he emphasized robust inter-agency coordination and airtight safety arrangements to ensure a safe and incident-free pilgrimage.

During his three days Kashmir visit, DG CRPF reviewed the security and logistical preparedness along the yatra route upto Baltal base camp. He stressed the importance of maintaining a robust security grid through close coordination among all the stakeholders.

He also chaired a meeting with senior officers of CRPF, civil administration, J&K Police and other Security Forcess involved in security of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, where he emphasized to strengthen inter-agency coordination to ensure safe and incident free pilgrimage.

At the Baltal base camp, he was briefed on the security grid, access control measures and logistics preparedness at the base camp to ensure airtight safety arrangements and smooth coordination among various stakeholders.

Singh conducted a comprehensive field visit to the 118 Battalion headquarters located at Gund. Underscoring the leadership’s commitment to ground-level operational readiness and troop welfare, the Director General also halted at the battalion headquarters overnight.

During his visit to 118 Bn, DG CRPF inspected the infrastructure and ongoing developmental works. He was given a detailed briefing by the senior officers on the prevailing security scenario and the strategic operational activities being undertaken within the Area of Responsibility. Singh also interacted with officers and jawans.

During his visit, he was accompanied by Vitul Kumar, SDG Ops Dte CRPF, Rajesh Kumar, ADG J&K Zone CRPF, Vineet Brij Lal, IG Kashmir Ops Sector CRPF, Sonal V Mishra, IG Prov Dte CRPF, Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF and other senior officers of CRPF.
