A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary, Finance, Rigzin Samphel at the Secretariat to discuss the operationalisation of the Council fund as per the LAHDC Act.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Director Finance, Ladakh Tahir Hussain and Chief Controller of Finance, LAHDC, Kargil, Shaukat.
Comm/ Secy Samphel directed DC Leh, Sachin Kumar to constitute a team for both Leh and Kargil districts, and directed them to submit the draft proposal within a month. He further directed Chief Controller Finance to submit the report from Kargil district in a month.
DC, Leh, Sachin informed the Chair about the preparation of rules for Council’s funds. He also shared that they are planning to hire a team of professionals, including legal and finance expertise, to frame rules and laws within a month. He further added that the constitution of district-wise separate committees is underway.
Comm/Secy Finance Samphel enquired about the hiring of a chartered accountant to handle the Council’s accounts and directed DC, Leh to write to Hill Council informing about the lack of response from them. And he also directed Director Finance, Tahir Hussain for hiring a chartered accountant.
