DSE Jammu calls off CEO Rajouri’s detachment order within a day

The Director School Education (DSE) Jammu cancelled an order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri for the detachment of teachers within a day. He also set up an inquiry against CEO Rajouri. This decision has led to hindrance against implementation of rationalization policy of the School Education Department.

The Chief Education Officer Rajouri issued an order on 12 March 2021 for sending back teaching staff of district Rajouri which are engaged in District Jammu according to the Director School Education Jammu’s order of 30 July 2020 and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri’s instructions from time to time.

The order further noted that for marking of attendance and uploading other data in Rajouri School Information System (RSIS), teachers who are deployed in Jammu district are required to report back to their original place of posting by or before 15 March 2021.

Surprisingly, the DSE Jammu issued another order on 13 March 2021 and cancelled the previous order issued by CEO Rajouri. Various teaching associations strongly criticized this decision. They said that as there is a  shortage of teaching staff in many schools of Jammu region, so there was a need for the implementation of a rationalization policy.

President of All Teacher Association J&K said that they appreciated the step taken by CEO Rajouri. They are in total support of detachment of teaching staff of Rajouri district who are deployed in Jammu but DSE Jammu’s decision has halted it unfortunately.

Moreover, the DSE Jammu has even ordered Shoket Mehmood, Joint Director School Education to hold enquiry against Chief Education Officer Rajouri for willful disobedience. The list issued by CEO Rajouri of eight teachers in which majority of teachers are working with the office of Directorate School Education Jammu.
