EXPO 2020 Dubai gears up to host the J&K week, delegation to pitch for global investments

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is set to showcase the investment opportunities in the region as the India Pavilion at EXPO2020 Dubai, one of the largest trade and technology exhibitions in the world, gears up to host the J&K week starting 3 January.

A delegation from J&K which is led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will try to attract the business leaders for making investment in tourism and handicrafts sectors.

The J&K week begins on 3 January and will conclude on 13 January 2022 where Manoj Sinha along with other government officials from the UT will hold various G2B, B2G, and G2G meetings and invite global investors to invest in various sectors.

Government of J&K is trying to build an entrepreneurial friendly environment that will help in the sustainable growth and development of industrial enterprises including Cottage and Village industries.

The J&K delegation will also participate in various bilateral meetings during the week and special speech on, ‘Development after UT’ will be hosted on 6 January where the LG will talk about the initiatives taken by the government of J&K in ensuring growth across different sectors. On January 12, delegation will also participate in a joint session with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, for promoting balanced growth of industry and commerce through sustainable utilisation of natural resources.

With the help of new investments government of J&K is also trying to bring new employment opportunities for the people, promotion of human skills, revenue generation and development in various sectors.

The J&K week at India Pavilion will be attended by dignitaries including Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT J&K, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, IRTS, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce among many other officials.
