Free feeds distributed among nomads of Kargyam and Shachukul in Durbuk

Executive Councillor for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee distributed feeds to the livestock rearers of Kargyam and Shachukul villages in Durbuk block free of cost through Animal and Sheep Husbandry today. 

Similarly, free feeds are also being distributed to the villagers of Kharnak, Samad and Dongti villages of Nyoma. All the villages of Changthang will get free feeds from their respective Animal and Sheep Centers in the coming days.

Among present on the occasion were Block Veterinary Officer, Animal Husbandry, Dr  Arif Hussain; Block Veterinary Officer, Sheep Husbandry, Dr  Padma Yangzom;  BDC Chairman Durbuk; Sarpanch Shachukul and Nambarder of Kargyam and Shachukul villages respectively.  

EC Yakzee stated that the motive behind distributing free feeds to the livestock rearers of Changthang region especially during winter is to ensure good health of their livestock. He also said that it is essential to provide such kind of protein supplements because there is a lack of grazing pasture lands in the region during the harsh winter season.

EC Yakzee expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble LG Ladakh R.K Mathur, Chairman LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson and all the concerned officers for their guidance and directions in providing these free feeds to the livestock rearers.
