GMC Srinagar gets permission for M.Ch Urology programme

National Medical Commission (NMC) has permitted the Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar’s Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) to initiate with M.Ch in Urology programme.

The admission process will start from the current academic year and two seats have been set aside for the course.

In an official statement, GMC said that the NMC vide its communication No. NMC/PG(SS)/J&K/01(2 M.Ch)/2021/049846 Dated December 29, 2021 has been granted permission to start M.Ch Urology at Super Specialty Hospital, Government Medical College Srinagar.

Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar, Prof. Samia Rashid congratulated the Head of the Urology Department, Prof. Syed Sajjad Nazir for this feat and said that it will help in enhancing the academic activities.

Prof. Samia Rashid further added that it will help the medical students to do their research programme and added that it is a remarkable achievement in the history of Government Medical College, Srinagar.

“It will also augment manpower, in the form of Post-doctorate students, in the Department of Urology”, she said.
