Srinagar :- JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, addressed senior party leaders, workers, and functionaries at the party headquarters today. During his address, Dr. Abdullah emphasized the need to prepare extensively for the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections.
He called for the selection of young and educated candidates to ensure efficient governance at all levels.Highlighting the importance of grassroots engagement, Dr. Abdullah remarked, A government is strong only when the base of the party at the grassroots is robust. It is essential to strengthen the party cadres and work tirelessly at the grassroots level for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah appealed to the Central Government to implement robust safety measures to protect the sanctity of holy religious sites across the country. He expressed concern over the ongoing survey of the 800-year-old shrine of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah Sharif in Ajmer.
Stressing its cultural and spiritual significance, he stated that such sacred sites symbolize India’s shared heritage and play a vital role in preserving its secular ethos.These matters must be handled with utmost sensitivity as early as possible,Dr. Abdullah warned, cautioning against any actions that could disrupt communal harmony.
Dr. Abdullah reiterated the party’s commitment to fulfilling the promises outlined in its manifesto. He expressed confidence in Omar Abdullah’s leadership to ensure the realization of these commitments for the betterment of the people.
Earlier, Provincial President Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir welcomed Dr. Farooq Abdullah after the successful completion of Umrah.
