There are allegations that the Department of Higher Education has started modifying transfer orders in order to allegedly benefit a few influential teaching faculty members within the Jammu city. These modifications are being made just one week after the orders were issued and are in total violation of the transfer policy.
Sources said that the transfer orders are being modified by the department secretly to benefit blue-eyed assistant/associate professors. Official website has no mention of these modification. The General Administration Department (GAD) had directed departments to upload all updates on the website in compliance of the RTI rules. The department did not even circulated these modifications on social media platforms.
According to the sources, the modification order is only being sent to the beneficiary assistant/associate professors, the principal from the previous college (where beneficiary was working) and the principal of new college (where he/she will join).
Sources said that one beneficiary of this modification order is an influential assistant/associate professor, who was posted at the Jammu city colleges for more than a decade. Around four days earlier, he was transferred to Government Degree College Udhampur totally violating the transfer policy. His transfer order got modified and he has rejoined at GDC Bishnah. Throughout his entire career, he has never served in peripheries because of his strong links.
Sources further said that another beneficiary of it is a female Assistant/Associate Professor. She has continuously served in cities for many years. In her latest transfer orders, she was transferred to GDC Paloura but the department modified her transfer order. Since she is a resident of Sainik Colony, she managed to transfer herself in GDC Kunjwani. Even while there is rule of LG, teaching faculty members easily manage modification of transfer orders.
Sources said that there are many other teaching faculty members, who are running from one office to another so that they can get their transfer order modified. In some of the cases, the department too has been accepting their requests because of some mysterious reasons.
