An encounter has broken out between the security forces and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the forests of Basantgarh in the Udhampur district, officials said this afternoon.
Reports said that 2 to 3 JeM terrorists are trapped in the joint cordon of the security forces.
The White Knight Corps of the Army informed on X; “In an intelligence based joint Operation, contact has been established with the terrorists by the Troops of CIF Delta, #WhiteKnightCorps, @JmuKmrPolice and #CRPF at around 4 pm today in the general area of Basantgarh. Cordon has been established. Firefight is on. Operation is in progress”.
