Amarnath Yatra 2022 was marred by a flood panic in the water body and nearby springs due to heavy rains in the high mountains surrounding the Holy Cave. The incident happened around three o’clock today.
More than 4,000 pilgrims were safely rescued from the area after an instant notice was issued. From the Holy cave area, pilgrims were transported to safer locations like Panchtarni. The situation is reported to be under control due to improving weather and an absence of a flood-like situation currently.
