Hope, Pride, History: CM Omar Abdullah calls Ranji Final a turning point for J&K cricket; Omar joins team in Hubballi for final push

“A landmark day for J&K cricket”, remarked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as he reached the venue of the final day of the Ranji Trophy cricket match today between J&K and Karnataka at Hubballi.

Omar was seen taking with his mobile phone pictures of the J&K team in action.

“In Hubballi to cheer the J&K cricket team as they seal a historic win. There hasn’t been a day over the 5 day final that the team hasn’t dominated the opposition”, he wrote on X.

Chief Minister is in Hubballi, Karnataka, to witness the Ranji Trophy Final, a momentous occasion for J&K Cricket, with the team standing just moments away from scripting a historic victory”.

The Chief Minister lauded the J&K team’s remarkable achievement, praising their confidence and teamwork. He said their success will inspire young athletes and strengthen hopes of seeing more players from the region represent India.

“Wishing the very best to Team J&K as they gear up for the final of the prestigious Ranji Trophy in Hubli. The entire Jammu & Kashmir National Conference stands firmly with our team. May they play with confidence and bring more glory to our land”.

Calling it a defining moment for J&K cricket, the Chief Minister said he travelled to Hubballi to personally cheer the team as they move towards sealing a historic victory. “I am in Hubballi to cheer the J&K cricket team as they seal a historic win. There hasn’t been a single day in this five-day final when the team has not dominated the opposition,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister arrived in Karnataka on Friday evening to lend his support to the team in what is being hailed as a landmark chapter in the sporting history of Jammu & Kashmir. With hopes, prayers, and unwavering support from across the region, the team is poised to clinch the prestigious title in their maiden appearance in the final of India’s premier domestic cricket championship.

Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, and the Administrator J&K Cricket Association accompanied the Chief Minister.
