Poonch: A potentially deadly improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered and safely defused during an ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday.
Army personnel located the one-kilogram IED concealed in a remote area of Dalan village in the Degwar sector, according to security officials. Bomb disposal experts were immediately called to the scene and successfully neutralized the explosive device.The operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs about suspicious activity in and around the village.
Security forces are continuing their sweep of the area as the search operation remains active.This discovery highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region as forces work to prevent potential attacks.
