IIM Jammu brings global marketing experts together for four-day academic summit
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on Tuesday announced that it will host the 13th AIM–AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium and International Marketing Conference (DC–IMC 2026) from July 1 to 4, bringing together leading marketing scholars, journal editors, researchers and industry experts from India and abroad.
Addressing a press conference, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, said the four-day event, being organized in collaboration with the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) and the AMA Sheth Foundation, USA, marks a significant milestone in the institute’s efforts to emerge as a globally connected, research-driven management institution.
The conference will feature two flagship academic events—the 13th AIM–AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium from July 1 to 3 and the International Marketing Conference from July 3 to 4.
Prof. Sahay said the collaboration reflects the conference’s international stature and reinforces IIM Jammu’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and global knowledge exchange. He added that the event would strengthen India’s marketing research ecosystem while positioning Jammu and Kashmir as an emerging destination for international academic conferences and research collaborations.
The press conference was also attended by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, along with Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Doctoral Consortium Co-Chair, and Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Parida and Dr. Archana Sharma, Co-Chairs of the International Marketing Conference.
According to the organisers, around 50 doctoral scholars from premier institutions across India will participate in the Doctoral Consortium, where they will receive mentorship from internationally renowned faculty members, editors of leading academic journals and eminent marketing scholars.
The consortium has been designed to provide an immersive academic experience through masterclasses, research methodology sessions, manuscript development workshops, “Meet-the-Editors” interactions, academic career guidance and networking opportunities aimed at helping young researchers enhance the quality and global impact of their work.
The event is being spearheaded by Prof. Jagdish N. Sheth, Padma Bhushan awardee, Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, USA, and founder of the AIM–AMA Sheth Foundation. Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading marketing scholars, Prof. Sheth has made pioneering contributions to consumer behaviour, relationship marketing and marketing strategy.
The conference will also feature keynote lectures, plenary and technical sessions, panel discussions, practitioner roundtables and research paper presentations across six contemporary marketing themes. More than 200 participants from India and overseas are expected to attend.
Organisers said accepted research papers will be published in the conference proceedings, while select papers will be considered for publication in reputed ABDC-, ABS- and Scopus-indexed journals. Outstanding research contributions will also be recognised through Best Paper Awards carrying a total prize money of ₹50,000.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Jabir Ali said the conference would promote high-quality marketing research, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen the interface between academia and industry, particularly in the era of Artificial Intelligence. He said the gathering of globally acclaimed scholars and researchers would foster innovation, publication opportunities and long-term international academic partnerships.
