IIM Jammu reinforces international footprint through France partnership talks
Reinforcing its commitment to internationalization and global academic engagement, the Indian Institute of Management Jammu hosted a delegation from the French Institute in India, Embassy of France, on 16 June 2026. The visit focused on strengthening academic cooperation, student and faculty mobility, research partnerships, and long-term institutional collaborations between IIM Jammu and leading higher education institutions in France.
The delegation comprised Dr. Fabien Chareix, Attaché for University and Scientific Cooperation; Ms. Rajni Bachwani, Deputy Attaché for University and Scientific Cooperation; Ms. Chloe Lambert, Project Manager, University and Scientific Cooperation; and Ms. Nidhi Chopra, Manager, Campus France Chandigarh. The delegation was received by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics; Dr. Pranjal Pachpore, Chairperson, International Relations; and Dr. Kavita Yadav, Co-Chairperson, International Relations.
The visit began with a guided tour of the IIM Jammu campus, during which the delegation was introduced to the Institute’s academic infrastructure, technology-enabled learning spaces, research facilities, and student-centric campus environment. The delegates appreciated IIM Jammu’s growth trajectory, modern facilities, and focus on academic excellence.
This was followed by a detailed discussion with Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, the Deans, and Chairpersons of various academic programmes and institutional activities. The interaction provided an opportunity to deliberate on future areas of international engagement and cooperation.
A detailed presentation on IIM Jammu highlighted the Institute’s academic achievements, research initiatives, internationalisation efforts, student diversity, industry engagement, and strategic vision. The discussions focused on building partnerships with French Higher Education Institutions, promoting student and faculty exchange programmes, facilitating short-term academic mobility, exploring collaborative research opportunities, and identifying prospective French institutions for sustained academic cooperation.
The French delegation commended IIM Jammu’s academic accomplishments, global outlook, and forward-looking vision. They expressed interest in exploring collaborative initiatives that could enhance academic engagement and mobility between Indian and French higher education institutions. The interaction also served as a platform to discuss emerging trends in higher education, international student engagement, research collaboration, and the growing significance of global partnerships in management education.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to advancing educational cooperation and building sustainable partnerships that promote academic excellence, innovation, cultural exchange, and global learning opportunities.
