In a major blow to illegal mining, Jammu (Rural) Police detained eleven vehicles involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of mining material at different locations of the rural zone, Police said today.
A police party from *Police Post Jourian* along with the Naib Tehsildar Jourian conducted a joint operation in the Jad area and seized several vehicles involved in illegal mining. The seized vehicles include *JCB bearing registration No. JK02CK-5572, JCB Ranger (Chassis No. PUNJD21AK3274506), Ranger JCB (Chassis No. PUNJD21AKN3146869), Tipper bearing registration No. JK02CS-8455*, and four Dumpers bearing registration Nos. *JK02CV-9799, JK02CH-5966, JK02DC-9181 and JK02CJ-7986.*
In another action, a police party from *Police Post Chinore* detained one Tractor Trolley bearing registration *No. JK02BH-3998,* which was found involved in illegal mining without valid permission.
Similarly, a police party from *Police Post Pounichak* also detained one Tractor Trolley (*Chassis No. BXADL1540732S3)* found involved in illegal mining activities without permission.
In a separate action, a police party from *Police Post Pallanwala* detained one Tractor Trolley bearing registration *No. JK02DE-4334,* which was found loaded with lime stones and involved in illegal mining without valid authorization.
The District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu has been informed in all cases for further necessary legal action under the relevant provisions of mining laws.
