Illegal mining: Trucks, tractors, JCB among 19 vehicles seized by Ganderbal Police

Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Ganderbal Police seized 19 Vehicles; including, 3 tipper, 15 tractors & 1 JCB, for illegal extraction of Minor Minerals in the jurisdiction of PS Ganderbal, PS Kangan & PS Gund.

These vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, the vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities in the district and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.
