Jammu and Kashmir to witness intermittent rain and snow till February 10: MeT department

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain and snow in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir until February 10.

According to an official from the Meteorological Centre in Srinagar, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy on Friday. On February 3, the department predicts generally cloudy conditions in the evening, with the possibility of light rain or snow over isolated higher reaches towards late night. A more significant change in weather is anticipated between February 4 and 5, when there are chances of generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and snowfall at scattered to fairly widespread locations.

The weather is expected to improve by February 5 forenoon. Between February 6 and 8, the region will likely experience cloudy yet dry weather. However, another fresh spell of light rain and snow is expected at isolated to scattered places across Jammu and Kashmir on February 9 and 10.

Given these weather predictions, the official has advised tourists, travelers, and transporters to adhere to advisories issued by the administration and traffic department. This precaution is crucial to ensure safe travel, especially in higher reaches prone to snowfall and possible disruptions.
