Jammu gets 6 more seats, Kashmir 1 in delimitation commission proposal

Delimitation Panel proposes 6 additional seats for the Jammu region and 1 for Kashmir Valley which will lead to total seats in Jammu to 43 and Kashmir to 47.

The five-member panel of the Bharatiya Janata Party including Union Minister Jitendra Singh, BJP leader Jugal Kishore Sharma, and the National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah, Hasnain Masoodi, and Mohammad Akbar Lone on Monday attended the meeting of the Delimitation Commission in Delhi.

9 seats were proposed for ST & 7 for SC. Associate members requested to submit their suggestions by Dec 31.
