JK Admin warns people to share travel history immediately

While during normal days people share their travel history with friends and even on social media, during the times of Coronavirus it has become extremely difficult for the authorities to know about the same.

District Administration Kishtwar has appealed the all the students and travelers of district Kishtwar having travel history of COVID-19 affected countries or other states must share it on COVID-19 Helpline No.01995-259555 or through emal:- dckishtwar-jk@nik.in immediately in the interest of public health.

The administration says that despite advice/appeals this office has received inputs front different sources/agencies that the students and travelers having travel history of COVID-19 affected countries and other affected areas of the States/ UTs/Country, are entering in the district without disclosing their travel history with the administration and the health department thereby posing a severe threat to the public health/safety of their family members and the public in general.

“Now, the district administration once again requested to bring such cases in notice of the administration through whatever means available, so that appropriate necessary measures in the interest of public health can be taken by the administration, failing which, strict action shall be taken against the defaulters” an order said.

On the other hand district magistrate Bandipora issued final warning to people hiding travel history and asked them to report within one day or face action.

DM, who is also the Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, said that it has come to his notice during the process of contract tracing of COVID-19 positive cases that a number of people were hiding their travel history thereby putting at risk their own  lives and that of general public at large  which amounts to a criminal act.

Accordingly the DM put such persons on notice and said that all such persons who still have not reported their travel histories are given one last opportunity to report their travel histories  on Control room numbers 01957-225024, 01957-225323, 9419010752 and 7006526985 or log on to website findcovidbandipora.in within a period of one day failing which penal action as warranted under Disaster Management Act , Epidemic Disease Act and Indian Penal Code, will be initiated against them, which includes imprisonment and fine.
