J&K entrepreneurs ask will the ease of doing business become reality?

Business community in Jammu and Kashmir is facing a threat of closure of their industrial units and business units. Despite of tall claims of government and administration in J&K about ease of doing business, many local businesses have complained and claimed that they may face closure.

Jammu & Kashmir has onboarded on the National Single Window System (NSWS), a digital platform that helps investors get government approvals for projects but from industrial units to other business ventures, the local entrepreneurs, who had been struggling to survive and said that things have become so tough due to babu raaj that many of them may face closure soon as per Early Times.

Even in September, the business community of J&K claimed that 85% of the industrial units may lead to shutdown in the valley by March next year and had asked government to intervene and save them from shutting down and include these existing units in PM’s package.

Various protests have been staged by the businessmen of Jammu, on one decision of the babu raaj or the other.

A businessman said that from new guidelines which have crushed the liquor trade to restrictions on historic durbar and the woes of power in particular, the business community in Jammu is suffering unheard. 130 industrial services have been made online on a single-window system, over 160 more services would be integrated this year.

“How do integrating online services with a national portal mean that JK has succeeded to improve business activities when the reality is altogether different,” asked a businessman.
