J&K: First batch of Haj pilgrims return from Saudi Arabia

On Saturday, the first group of 145 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir who had travelled to Saudi Arabia for the Haj pilgrimage arrived home. According to the officials, Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir, P K Pole, and other top police and government officials welcomed the batch at the Srinagar International Airport.

The aeroplane carrying the 145 pilgrims, 80 men and 65 women, arrived at the airport at 7.50 am.  This year, more than 6,000 pilgrims from J&K made the annual journey. Due to COVID-19, the Haj was not undertaken for two years. On August 2, the final flight transporting pilgrims from J&K will land.
