J&K government gets tough on teachers who continue to be engaged in non-academic duties

The practice of involving teachers to non-academic duties in Jammu and Kashmir is still being continued and J&K government has a strong reply for the faulty ones.

The Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED) Bishwajit Kumar Singh recently issued an order where nearly eighteen teachers and 4 non-teaching employees (Library and Laboratory assistants) who were adjusted in DSEK in violation of norms to be detached.

Moreover, SED has asked explanation from Director School Education Kashmir Tasdauq Hussain Mir regarding letting these teachers to work in directorate.

Since laboratory and library assistants takes care of the library and different laboratories in the schools SED has asked explanation from Director School Education Kashmir Tasdauq Hussain Mir for letting these teachers to work in directorate.

The government also ordered that the teachers besides the laboratory and library assistants who are still deployed in the DSEK shall be deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, an official said that government should be taking a strong action whenever such violation happens and added that it is a big step made by government for detaching teachers which were allowed to continue in directorate despite repeated orders.

One of the teacher said that government should also go for reshuffling of the teachers, masters and lecturers in DIETs and J&K SCERT.
