The government of Jammu and Kashmir is planning to vaccinate senior citizens at home so that they do not face problems at hospitals and health centers where vaccination is in process.

The issue has also been discussed with Lt Governor at a high level meeting held recently in which it was told that senior citizens face hassles in coming to the vaccination centers and are prone to catching Covid there.

Even as vaccination was allowed for 60 plus people, there are a large number of people who have not been inoculated so far due to varied reasons. To vaccinate all those left-outs, the government is mulling to immunize them at home, a senior official of J&K government told JK Newsline.

Many of the senior citizens in J&K have still not been immunized as they were not able to reach the vaccination centers.

However the proposal is in initial stages but the government was serious about the issue as senior citizens above 60 years of age are prone to catching the virus easily.
