J&K police arrests six terrorist associates from Sopore and Bandipora

Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested six terror associates of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Sopore and Bandipora in north Kashmir in a major counter-terrorism operation.

Officials informed that incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered. Police officer informed that while keeping a check it was observed that three persons coming from Gund Brath village towards Bomai village were roaming in suspicious conditions and were asked to stop but they tried to run but was later caught by security officers.

Police further informed that incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 2 Pistols, 2 Pistol Magazines, 13 Pistol rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from their possession.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Arafat Majeed Dar, Tauseef Ahmed Dar, and Momin Nazir Khan.

 Police said that during the probe it has come forward that these terror associates were helping terrorists in providing them logistic and other support and case has been registered against them at Bomai police station.

Moreover, three more terror associates has been caught by the police in Bandipora of proscribed terror outfit LeT after receiving information regarding the activities of terrorist associates in Bandipora town and its adjoining areas.

As per reports, arms and incriminating material was recovered from them and they have been identified as Gh Mohammad, Irshad Hussain and Ashiq Hussain.

Police informed that during the probe it has come forward that these terror associates were working to expand the terrorist activities of proscribed terror outfit LeT especially foreign terrorists by providing them logistic support and further investigation is going on.
