J&K police files chargesheet under UAPA against terror associate in Kulgam

The Jammu and Kashmir police have produced a chargesheet under UAPA case before NIA court against an alleged terrorist associate in connection with a case, registered nearly three months ago, regarding fleeing of two terrorists who were killed since then.

A police spokesman said that the chargesheet has been produced before the NIA court Anantnag within a stipulated time.

He said that on 26 September 2020, some terrorists fired randomly upon policemen near police station Behibagh though police personnel retaliated effectively, but terrorists ran away from the spot with the help of terror associate. Regarding the incident, he said that a case (FIR No. 03/20) under section 7/25, 27 A Act, 13,16,18,20,23 UAPA was registered in police station Behibagh and investigation was initiated.

He said that while investigating the case, two terrorists of LeT namely Amir Ahmad Mir and Amir Manzoor Ganie (both neutralized since) were involved in the act and added that involvement of one terror associate namely Suhail Ahmad in the commission of the instant case.

Spokesman said that the terror associate was arrested and illegal arms and ammunition along with other incriminating material was recovered from his possession.

“Investigation of the case was carried out in a professional manner and all evidences including digital evidence were collected by the Investigation team and on 15 January 2022 the chargesheet of the case was produced before NIA court Anantnag,” he said.
