J&K to witness widespread rainfall, will break current heat wave: MeT

The next 24 hours will see extensive light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the Meteorological (MeT) department.

An official from the Met department stated on Tuesday that widespread light to moderate rain is predicted to fall in J&K within the next 24 hours. This will break the present heat wave.  Over the past 24 hours, the weather in the union territory has remained hot and dry.

The lowest temperature in Srinagar was recorded 20.8 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam 15.6 degrees, and Gulmarg 13 degrees.

For Ladakh region, the lowest temperature was 15.5 degrees and 13.3 degrees in Drass town. Mercury fell down to 26.6 in Jammu, 24.4 in Katra, 21 in Batote, 21.8 in Banihal, and 20.5 in Bhaderwah.
