Jammu & Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) today organized a Farmers’ Interaction Programme at Chakmorh, Akhnoor in Jammu, in the august presence of A.K. Angurana, Chairman JKMPCL.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from dairy farmers, members of Village Dairy Cooperative Societies (VDCS), JKMPCL officials, and other stakeholders from the dairy sector.
Addressing the gathering, Angurana emphasized that JKMPCL, besides being a leading dairy cooperative in the region, is firmly committed to functioning as a farmer-centric welfare organization focused on improving the livelihood and economic wellbeing of dairy farmers associated with its network.
He highlighted the crucial role played by dairy farmers in strengthening the cooperative dairy movement in Jammu & Kashmir and appreciated their sustained efforts in ensuring regular milk supply while maintaining quality standards. The Chairman reiterated JKMPCL’s commitment to supporting farmers through welfare initiatives, technical assistance, veterinary services, and improved milk procurement systems.
As part of its farmer welfare initiatives, the Chairman distributed Annual Bonus Cheques among members of Village Dairy Cooperative Societies. The gesture was received with great enthusiasm and reflects JKMPCL’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of cooperative growth are directly shared with milk producers.
On the occasion, Angurana also inaugurated a Cow Lifting Machine for the benefit of dairy farmers in the area. The machine will assist farmers in handling cattle during emergencies, particularly when animals are sick, injured, or unable to stand, thereby reducing hardship and improving animal care.
The programme also provided a platform for direct interaction between farmers and JKMPCL leadership. Farmers shared their feedback, concerns, and suggestions regarding milk procurement, veterinary services, and cooperative support. JKMPCL officials assured that all issues raised would be addressed systematically to further strengthen the dairy cooperative ecosystem.
