J&K’s first Endoscopic Spinal Decompression surgery performed in Pulse Hospital Jammu

Yet another feather in the cap of Pulse Hospital and Research Centre, Jammu was added when a successful spine surgery was performed in the department of orthopaedic of the medical unit.

Two patients namely Suraya Begum and Shahida Parveen were admitted in Pulse hospital complaining of prolong spine and disc related issues that they were facing since long. Dr Farid, Orthopaedic Surgeon after thorough consultation and counselling with the patients came to the conclusion that the surgery is the last resort and finally decided to go ahead with the Endoscopic Spinal Decompression surgery which is one of its kinds and was performed for the first time in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The surgery was marked by a single stitch and just a 4 mm incision. It took the Surgeon and his team only 30 minutes to complete the surgery and the patient was able to walk again within 12 hrs of the surgery.

The team of doctors comprised of Dr Farid, Dr Farooq, Dr Basit Anesthelogist Dr Mushtaq and Sr Assistants Anil Sharma.

Mohammad Qasim, Chairman of the Pulse Hospital informed that the Pulse hospital is amongst the few hospitals in the UT that are equipped with such high end and high precision endoscopy equipments
