Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Devansh Yadav today conducted an extensive tour of various wards in Jammu South to take stock of the functioning of street lights installed by the EESL in JMC jurisdiction.
Responding to the complaints with regard to non-functioning of street lights in various wards of the JMC jurisdiction, the Commissioner undertook tour with the objective to ensure that the lighting issues are resolved promptly and efficiently. He said that the electrical team of JMC is working with zeal and dedication to repair the street lights from its own sources. As many as 1000 street lights would be repaired on daily basis by mobilizing all available resources, he maintained and hoped that the core issue with regard to street lights would be resolved soon.
The Commissioner informed that present repair strategy of JMC electrical team would lead to a swift resolution of the lighting issues that have been affecting the community. He acknowledged the importance of proper street lighting for public safety and community well-being, assuring that every effort is being made by the JMC to restore reliable lighting in every nook and corner of JMC jurisdiction.
Focusing on the repairing of non-operational street lights, a long-term plan is being developed to contain similar issues in the future, Dr. Yadav said and added that the plan includes regular maintenance schedules and upgrades to the street lighting infrastructure to ensure sustained performance.
Dr. Yadav said that with the set of daily repair target would show gradual improvements in street lighting over the coming days, adding that the initiative would reflects the administration’s dedication to enhancing urban infrastructure and improving the quality of life for the citizens of Jammu.
