Kashmir on the path of progress, ‘some people’ dissatisfied: LG Sinha

Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Friday that few individuals are dissatisfied with the peace, tourism boom, and constant progress in the UT. As a result, they continue to try to antagonize security personnel in an effort to trigger street demonstrations. He was speaking at the launch of District Export Plans at SKICC on the banks of Dal Lake.

The LG added that while most people in Kashmir are breathing a sigh of relief, some individuals aren’t satisfied with the current calm environment, tourist boom, and development taking place in the UT.

The LG said that these individuals constantly try to incite the security forces to make a mistake so that they can provoke others to ignite street protests. However, our soldiers remain on high alert to maintain the peace and thwart any attempts to undermine it.  He did not, however, pinpoint the individuals who are dissatisfied with Kashmir’s current state of affairs.

He said that J&K is witnessing rapid growth and that in the next years, the region would become a national example for growth and investment. The LG stated that Kashmir will also host the G-20 meeting, which would provide J&K’s investments a considerable boost.

In subsequent conversations with reporters, LG Sinha thanked the personal intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a result of which J&K is working on district export plans. He added that over the course of the next five years, J&K will receive a significant push in the export arena, and the UT’s export potential is expected to rise..
