Srinagar :- Kashmir Valley is currently experiencing a significant dip in temperatures following the season’s initial snowfall in the plains. Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded a chilling minus 2 degrees Celsius on Friday, a notable decrease from the previous night.
Gulmarg, a renowned ski resort, emerged as the coldest place in the valley, with the mercury plummeting to a frigid minus 9.6 degrees Celsius.The higher reaches of Kashmir, including popular tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Zojila, witnessed light to moderate snowfall on Thursday.
Additionally, some areas in the plains of Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla, and the upper reaches of Anantnag, Budgam, and Bandipora also received light snowfall.While the Met department predicts predominantly dry weather until December 21, a cold wave is expected to grip many parts of the valley over the next four days, leading to further temperature declines.
