Under the directions of Director Law Enforcement J&K, Balbir Singh and ADLE Jammu Kuldeep Singh, a meeting of the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides dealers of District Kathua was convened at the Sub-Division Office to review compliance with the statutory provisions governing the sale and distribution of agricultural inputs. The meeting was aimed at sensitising stakeholders and ensuring strict adherence to the existing regulatory framework.
During the meeting, explicit instructions were issued to the stakeholders to strictly comply with the provisions of the Seeds Act, the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) and the Insecticides Act and Rules.
The dealers and retailers were directed to prominently display approved price list of the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides at their respective establishments, issue proper bills or invoices for every sale and maintain accurate and up-to-date stock and sales registers in accordance with the standing instructions.
It was categorically informed that any deviation from or non-compliance with the prescribed instructions would be viewed seriously and stringent action under the relevant provisions of the Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides laws would be initiated against the erring dealers or retailers without any further notice.
The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Kamal Rajan; Agriculture Extension Officer, Surinder Sharma; Law Enforcement Inspector, Anil Gupta, besides dealers and retailers dealing in seeds, fertilizers and pesticides of District Kathua.
