Kidnapped family members found dead in California, relatives in Punjab devastated

The search for four family members who were mysteriously kidnapped in California ended in Wednesday after they were found dead.

Authorities informed that all four Sikh family members, including an eight-month-old baby girl, who were kidnapped in the US state of California earlier this week have been found dead.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said during a news conference that their worst fears have been confirmed. The sheriff of Merced County in California said that a baby girl and three other family members who were kidnapped at gunpoint have been found dead.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said that the bodies of 36-year-old Jasdeep Singh, 27-year-old Jasleen Kaur, their eight-month-old child Aroohi Dheri and the baby’s uncle, 39-year-old Amandeep Singh were found on Wednesday evening in an orchard near Indiana Road & Hutchinson Road.

The family had been missing since Monday, when authorities said they were kidnapped by a man armed with a gun and forced into a truck.

“Police have taken into custody a man they consider a person of interest in the case. The man is speaking with authorities and a motive is still unknown, the sheriff said”.

The death of family members has left their relatives in Punjab devastated. Villagers thronged their houses Thursday morning to console them and said that it was a big shock to them.
