Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tuesday sacked his Health Minister Vijay Singla from the cabinet on charges of corruption reportedly.
Singla was allegedly demanding a one per cent commission on tenders. Soon after his removal, he was arrested by the anti-corruption branch of the Punjab police.
Mann in a video message said that he directed the police to register a case against Singla. Mann also said that he wanted to convey the message of zero tolerance for corruption through this sacking.
Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal praised Mann for the action and said, “Your action has brought tears to my eyes”.
