Even as Aamir Khan’s movie Laal Singh Chaddha faced criticism and boycott call from different sections, the movie is still struggling to show upward trend on box office collections.
The film that started with a lukewarm start has not been able to earn even Rs 50 crore on its opening weekend that suggests that the film could become a major flop if it does not start an upward spiral within two to three days.
As per the Box office collections, Laal Singh Chaddha earned nearly Rs 10 crore on Sunday and collected a total of Rs 37.50 crore so far. On Independence Day the Box Office Collections of Laal Singh Chaddha could become better but it has to be seen if the movie starring Aamir Khan is able to undo the boycott calls given against it.
On the other hand Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is also facing similar situation on the box office as the movie has not even crossed Rs 30 crore on box office collections. Both Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha are struggling on the silver screen.
However experts believe that the reason for the slow start of these movies is likely to be creative and better content available on OTT platforms. Experts believe that after the continuous closure of cinema halls during the pandemic in 2020, people have developed a habit to watch content on OTT platforms rather than going to cinema halls.
