Aamir Khan had faced a backlash of Hindu groups due to alleged disrespect to the Hindu gods. There were many scenes in the movie which many Hindu groups objected to and even demanded that the movie be banned in India. Although the movie had talked about all religions but Hindu groups had felt that it targeted their community.

During the recent times an alleged affair of Aamir Khan with Fatima Sana Sheikh became the headlines in the media. Many even blamed the alleged affair to be the reason behind Aamir and Kiran Rao’s divorce. However Fatima Sana Sheikh and Aarmir have not given any statement over controversy.
