Ladakh administration directs tourists to ensure prior booking due to massive rush

With tourists making a beeline in the Union Territory of Ladakh an advisory has been issued by the administration for the tourists. Amid the increasing hardships for tourists getting unavailability of accommodation in high-altitude areas due to a heavy influx of tourists, authorities in Ladakh have advised holidaymakers not to plan a stay in the Pangong Lake area without a prior booking.

This advisory has been issued in the backdrop of inconvenience faced by people in getting accommodations. The tourism department Ladakh also advised the tourists not to travel to high-altitude areas like Khardongla, Changla, Pangong Lake, Tsomoriri and Penzela before 48 hours have elapsed since their arrival in Leh.

The advisory was issued on Friday to ensure safe and secure visit and stay of the tourists in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Ladakh tourism department mentioned in an advisory that Pangong lake area is a wild-life notified sanctuary and hence accommodation availability is limited and added that visitors should avoid plans of stay at Pangong without prior booking of accommodation.

Also the department informed that due to massive number of tourists visiting Ladakh it has been advised to tourists that they should travel to Ladakh by road/air with proper pre-booking (through registered travel agents/tour operators) of accommodation.
