Latest technology ‘Black Panther’ vehicles for anti-terror operations incorporated in J&K police

‘Black Panther’ vehicles with latest technology and surveillance setup has been inducted into Jammu and Kashmir police force for anti-terror operations.

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh dedicated the upgraded version of Operations Command Vehicles (OCVs), named as ‘Black Panther’ to Jammu and Kashmir Police at a ceremony. The DGP said that with the help of these vehicles, police would be able to effectively monitor a suspect location.

As per reports, cars are completely air-conditioned, having CCTV cameras,  360 degrees view camera, public address system, flashlights, latest medical kit, power backup and other surveillance and security systems.

Singh gave an example of Nagrota encounter and said that Operations Command Vehicles used during the gunfight came into much use in neutralising the terrorists. Singh further added that in order to increase the efficiency of the force, the vehicles have been provided to all ranges of the Kashmir Zone.

He said that for Jammu zone, the vehicles have been provided to Jammu district as J-K Police is planning to provide these vehicles to all districts in both Kashmir and Jammu zones.
