LG Manoj Sinha approves transfer of land for Kashmiri Pandit employees in valley

The administrative council of Jammu and Kashmir headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved transfer of land in five districts for the construction of 2,744 flats for migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees.

The land has been transferred under Prime Minister’s development package 2015. The total cost for the project is Rs 356 crores and construction will be done at 7 locations in Kashmir. This will help in providing employment opportunities to many skilled and unskilled workers.

The progress to felicitate the return of Kashmiri Pandits is done as part of the Prime Minister’s development package 2015, under which centre approved the construction of 6,000 transit accommodation units in the Kashmir Valley at estimated cost of Rs 920 crores.
