LG orders magisterial probe into killing of Rashid Mughal in Ganderbal encounter

Following allegations of a fake encounter in Ganderbal, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.
The LG wrote on X; “I have ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into Arhama, Ganderbal incident. The inquiry will examine all aspects related to the incident and ensure that justice is served”.
A resident of Ganderbal, Rashid Ahmad Mughal, was killed on 1 April in an encounter. His family has claimed that he was innocent.
CM Omar Abdullah and several other leaders have demanded a transparent probe into the incident.
