LG Sinha meets OYO’s CEO, discusses progress on homestays

Ankit Gupta, the CEO of OYO India, visited LG Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan yesterday. Sh Siddhartha Dasgupta, OYO’s President of Corporate Affairs, also accompanied him. The CEO updated the Lt. Governor on the development of 200 homestays under the “Crown of Incredible India” project. This project is a collaboration of J&K government and OYO Hotels and Homestays and will create job opportunities for locals.

The CEO also gave the Lt. Governor a briefing on the initiative that would teach homestay owners throughout J&K to increase revenue by methods like improving visitor experiences, running their properties profitably, in addition to raising awareness of homestays utilising social media and marketing channels.

According to information provided, 75 homestays will be officially opened on August 15 to mark the country’s 75th anniversary of independence. The Lt. Governor praised the OYO group’s efforts in creating high-quality lodging and other amenities so that local and foreign tourists may enjoy the rich culture and customs.

Relevantly, the UT government under Mission Youngsters had agreed to encourage 500 youth in starting homestays by offering each of them an incentive of Rs 50,000. The development of homestays would increase rural tourism and give young people job opportunities.
