Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur extended greetings to the people of Ladakh on the occasion of Losar, while also appreciating everyone for limiting the celebrations to their homes and with their families in view of the COVID pandemic.

LG Mathur took to the occasion and commended the frontline workers for their sincere and laborious efforts in dealing with the COVID pandemic and stated that the entire Ladakh is thankful to them.

Referring to the decision made by many Sarpanches, Councilors, private organizations, and individuals to restrict this year’s celebrations to their homes, LG Mathur said that this is a reflection of the maturity and responsible nature of the people.

Further, LG Mathur assured that the Medical Department is sufficiently equipped with medicines. “Additional oxygen concentrators and compressors will soon be inducted in the department’s inventory,” stated LG Mathur, while also commending the preparedness of the UT Administration for the winter months.

LG Mathur stated that he is proud to have witnessed qualities of commitment, hard work, and patience by the people of Ladakh and all the employees of UT Administration who have rendered their duties even amidst such difficult times. He added that such qualities are of paramount importance in building a developed and prosperous state.
