Various ongoing developmental projects in Jammu have not been completed yet but have missed several deadlines. It is irony that the government has been unable to ensure timely completion of those projects.

As per reports, in the frontier district of Rajauri alone around 50 developmental projects are missing deadlines for years. Government viewed the progress on the developmental projects being executed under languishing schemes by different departments.

Around thirty water supply projects are still incomplete. Talking about Jal Shakti Department, work on 24 schemes has been completed out of 68 schemes in all respects in Rajouri and Nowshera subdivisions. Half a dozen schemes and around four dozen works are still incomplete in the education department and the public works department respectively.

A senior official said that though the government started a scheme to complete languishing schemes even that is not being done in a speedy way.

Further the official said that delay did not happen related to its execution but that projects left incomplete by the previous regimes were being completed as a part of a new initiative. He said that new deadlines have been fixed, timelines for completion and continuous monitoring for maintaining the quality of works so that developmental aspirations of the general public can be met.
