An order by the District Magistrate stated in view of the clearance of snow accumulation from Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali stretch (Km 43.600) on Mughal Road (NH-701A), and pursuant to the recommendation for its opening as conveyed by the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF) vide communication No. 2115/RTS/WED/E2 dated 25.02.2026, it is hereby ordered that movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali with effect from 27.02.2026, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM only, subject to fair weather conditions and absence of any unforeseen exigencies.
Further, the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF), shall ensure deployment of adequate men and machinery at vulnerable stretches and avalanche-prone areas along the said route to promptly address any eventualities such as landslides, avalanches, shooting stones, etc. Continuous monitoring of avalanche-prone zones shall also be ensured to facilitate safe, smooth, and uninterrupted vehicular movement.
Besides, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, and the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural, Jammu shall deploy sufficient personnel at Behramgalla, Bufliaz, and Poshana check posts to ensure smooth regulation of traffic, strict compliance with this order, and adherence to the notified timings.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel strictly in accordance with traffic advisories issued by the Traffic Police in this regard.
