Nation mourns death of legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam

In recent days, the news of legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam being admitted to hospital had surfaced in news channels and social media.

The doctors had said that his health is improving and will be discharged soon. But in the morning on Friday the doctors of Chennai-based hospital declared SP Balasubrahmanyam dead.

The demise of the legendary singer is a huge loss to the industry. Balasubrahmanyam remained in the hospital for more than 50 days. The singer was 74 years old. The mortal remains of the singer will be taken to his farmhouse on the outskirts of Chennai, tonight.

The singer tested positive for Coronavirus and since then he had been admitted to the hospital. 

On September 5 the singer was again tested and this time the test result was negative. People from the industry as well as his fans organized prayers for his quick recovery.

In September start his son SP Charan informed the media about the improving health of his father saying that the singer is fully awake, responsive, and participating in physiotherapy.

In the last update, he said that his father’s health is stable but he is still on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and ventilator support. SPB’s mortal remains will be laid to the rest at his farmhouse at 10:30 a.m tomorrow. 

Many top celebrities took it to social media to express their sorrows for the legendary singer. Top South actors like Tamannaah Bhatia, Samantha Akkineni, and Dhanush too announced how badly they were shocked after the news.

Samantha Akkineni posted a picture of the singer and wrote “There will never be another #RIPSPB. An unbearable loss. Strength to the family”.

Tamannaah Bhatia took it to twitter and said that she was in shock after she heard the news. Unable to fathom the news of the unfortunate demise of SP Balasubrahmanyam garu. Your divine music will remain unparalleled. Your legacy will live on forever. Heartfelt condolences to the family”.
