In a late evening decision Navjot Singh Sidhu was appointed as the new president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
In a letter by Congress high command it was stated that the President of Congress has appointed Navjot Singh Sidhu as the president of Punjab Congress.
Four working presidents of Punjab Congress including Sangat Singh Gizian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Pawan Goel and Kuljit Singh Nagra have also been appointed.
It is important to mention that there was a tussle going on between Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu. Captain did not want Sidhu to be appointed as the Punjab Congress Chief.
