NCB found ‘charas’ at the residence of Deepika Padukone’s manager

On Tuesday, NCB raided the Versova residence of actress Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash. The NCB claimed that it found 1.7 gram of charas and two bottles of Cannabis oil.

Earlier, NCB questioned Karishma Prakash regarding the FIR in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. An NCB official said that the name of Karishma Prakash came up during the questioning of the drug peddlers arrested. Based on the information, the NCB raided the residence of Deepika’s manager on Tuesday.

Karishma was not present at the time of the raid, so the raid was conducted in the presence of her acquaintances. An official of the NCB said that they have called her for questioning tomorrow but her phone has been switched off and they don’t know where she is.

The FIR regarding the Sushant Singh Rajput case is being probed by the Delhi NCB team, while the second FIR is being probed by the Mumbai Zonal Unit of the NCB in which actress Rhea Chakraborty and 23 others have been arrested.

A NCB official told The Indian Express that Karishma has violated sections of NDPS act but she will be provided a chance before her name is added to the FIR. Deepika Padukone and her manager’s statement were recorded by the NCB after they found chats in the mobile phone of Jaya Saha, Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager, in which drugs were being discussed.

Deepika told the police that the discussion was not about any drug but rather a code word for cigarettes. As of now, 24 people have been arrested in the drug case so far including brother-in-law of Arjun Rampal, Agisailos Demetriades, cook and housekeeper of Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother including some drug peddlers. A NCB official said that some more arrests can soon take place.
