New probe reveals women being drawn into Kashmir’s terror web

A Jaish-e-Mohammad linkage with the Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has been unearthed by the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Tuesday (November 18, 2025) wherein women were being recruited for terror roles.

The agency has found that the DeM that was led by Asiya Andrabi and used to radicalize the women of Kashmir, was trying to recruit women terrorists from Kashmir into the Jaish fold. Investigators are also of the opinion that Dr Umar Farooq and his wife were allegedly involved in recruiting women across Kashmir on direction of the terror outfit.

The CIK conducted raids in different parts of Kashmir including Anantnag and Kulgam in connection with the terror recruitment investigation. The Delhi blast and Kashmiri doctors involved in it has opened up a Pandora box of new tactics of terrorism.

Many cases have been registered by the police in terror related activities after the Delhi blast and hundreds of people have been questioned during the investigation. It has been learnt that the Union Home Ministry is directly keeping a tab on the situation in Kashmir and J&K police has been instructed to go deep and uproot the terror modules operating from Valley.

It has been learnt that many doctors from Kashmir who have completed their degrees from Bangladesh are also under the scanner of the investigating agencies.
