Amid COVID-19 lockdown where people are left with no other choice than depending on telephonic conversations or online services, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Jammu division office doesn’t bother to respond to calls from the public.
As per reports, the official website of JKBOSE has six landline numbers mentioned but three contact numbers are out of order and remaining three numbers are not answered by the officials which obviously is troublesome for the general public.
These numbers mentioned against the officials include Joint Secretary, Secrecy, Estates, Accounts, Legal, Audit and PIO, Joint Director, Dr. Sudhir Singh contact number 0191-2581502 and 0191-2952366.
Similarly Joint Secretary, Examinations, Administration, Registration Forms and ETTC (Acad./Exams) Section Joint Director Altaf Hussain, contact number 0191-2582240, 0191-2952639 and Joint Secretary-General Certificates, Verification and Records Sections JD Tripta Devi contact number 0191-2585732 and 0191-2953721.
A resident of Gandhi Nagar said that he has been calling to numbers which are mentioned on the website over the last two weeks but no one is responding to the calls.
He added that he wanted to inquire about the procedure of how to get a copy of the 10th diploma certificate for his son. Since in lockdown they cannot go out and visit the office but not getting their calls answered are creating problems for him.
Estate officer of JKBOSE Kuldeep Sharma said that due to 50 percent attendance some officials might be not answering the phone calls but he assured that the numbers with prefix 258 are working and also the phone numbers starting with 295.
He added that the list of numbers will soon be published via print media so that the general public would be able to contact the office so that authorities can solve their queries.
